The Garfield Weston Foundation has very kindly made St Luke's Hospital a grant of £20,000 to help us with our refurbishment project!
We have been working hard over the past year to update 20 bedrooms in the Hospital to provide much better facilities and equipment for our patients. The rooms we have been updating are mainly used by our rehabilitation patients. The main issue had been with the bathrooms which were not designed for people to use wheelchairs or walkers independently. They also didn't have a shower.
The newly updated rooms will have ensuite wetrooms (like the photo) and each room is getting a makeover including a new electric bed. The aim is to make each person's stay as comfortable and independent as possible, to help improve their recovery.
Thanks to the support of funders such as the Garfield Weston Foundation, we have raised over £275,000 toward this refurbishment project. We are so grateful to every person, company and funder who has supported this project so far.
