The Hospital
Situated within Oxford City, St Luke’s has 48 single inpatient rooms. All rooms have en-suite facilities, direct dial telephones and colour TV's. There are 29 rooms on the first floor, a dining room, and two communal sitting rooms, leading out onto a large terrace. The Chapel is also situated on the first floor, where Church of England and Roman Catholic services are conducted.
On the ground floor there are 19 patient rooms, a large sitting room and the physiotherapy department, with its own gymnasium.
Aims and Objectives
St Luke’s is a registered charity and therefore any surpluses are reinvested into patient care, services and facilties.
St Luke’s aims to provide a high standard of patient care, by offering privacy, dignity and freedom of individual choice, supported by dedicated and caring staff.
The Organisation
The Council of St Luke's Hospital is a voluntary body which has the legal governance of the Hospital. The Council appoints a Responsible Individual, the General Manager (who acts on their behalf) together with the Registered Manager, is responsible for the running of the Hospital.
The Registered Manager is the Matron of St Luke's, who is a Registered Nurse with relevant clinical and managerial experience.
The Registered Manager ensures that suitably qualified, competent and experienced persons are working at the hospital in such numbers that are appropriate for the health and welfare of the patients.
